Family Physicians:
Are involved in all aspects of primary care. The  TW FHT family physicians also act as mentors to medical students, medical residents and nurse practitioner students.

Dr. Nitai Gelber joined the Toronto Western Family Health Team in 2020. He completed his undergraduate studies at McGill University, earned his medical degree from the University of British Columbia, and returned to Ontario for his Family Medicine residency at the University of Toronto. He went on to pursue fellowship training in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Gelber provides comprehensive family medicine care, drawing on his diverse clinical experience to support patients across all stages of life. In addition to his primary care practice, he offers specialized care in Sport and Exercise Medicine, with a focus on the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions. His work in this area includes the use of ultrasound-guided procedures to deliver targeted interventions.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Gelber serves as the Quality Lead for the Toronto Western Hospital within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is also active in the world of sport medicine, working with Soccer Canada and serving as the lead physician for the Toronto Rush. His experience extends to providing care for collegiate varsity teams and offering medical support at a range of high-profile athletic and entertainment events.
